Opera on 3 - Live from the Met - Berg's Lulu

An animal trainer presents to his audience the wonderful wild beasts they're are about to see. There's a tiger, a bear and - last but not least - a dangerous serpent - who will mesmerise, seduce and kill, and who eventually get murdered by Jack the Ripper. Berg's Lulu, live from the Metropolitan Opera in New York, conducted by Fabio Luisi. Marlis Petersen plays the scandalous femme fatale of the title, a role for which she has won international acclaim. Anne Sofie von Otter sings Countess Geschwitz, Gary Lehman is Alwa and James Morris is Dr. Schön. Presented by Margaret Juntwait with Ira Siff as guest commentator.
