Series which follows people's attempts to have their gardens accepted into the National Gardens Scheme. The Rowans in Cheshire is the creation of Paul Philpotts and Alan Bourne, who have been working on the garden for five years. As Paul has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, he would like to join the scheme as soon as possible. Paul and Alan suffer from flooding in parts of their garden and they also have a bed that looks distinctly bare and uninteresting. Does Joe have any horticultural pearls of wisdom that can help them get into the Yellow Book? In East Sussex, Katherine Willig has been working on her garden, the Twitten, for 25 years - helped along by contributions from the birds. The garden envelops the house and includes a Judas tree and a mature eucalyptus. However, it just has too much lawn to be of interest; luckily Joe is on hand with some useful suggestions. Will they be enough to get Katherine's garden into the Yellow Book?
