Tom Heap visits the farm of Pat and John Stanley, who breed pedigree Longhorn Cattle, as they prepare their animals for the Royal Show in Warwickshire. They have been breeding cattle for the past 20 years and have won the Best of Breed championship at the Royal four times. They explain how animals are chosen for the show and why Longhorn meat is so prized by top chefs such as Heston Blumental. With 2009 due to be the last Royal Show, the Stanleys, like many famers, are concerned by the impact this might have on all those who show pedigree livestock as part of their business.
