On Your Farm

02/08/2009

Alex James visits Hill Farm in Oxfordshire, home of Truckfest, a locally run music festival which features well known-bands alongside the up and coming. The owners of the farm and organisers of the festival, Alan Binning and his wife, cater the event with the local Rotary Club and the cows give up their shed to hold an indoor stage of more adventurous sounds and shelter for the rain weary. Truck remains a local festival with no desire to grow any bigger, but what do these many visitors mean for the farm and the local community? Can cows and campers really co-exist? Alex James, a man with one foot in rock 'n' roll and the other firmly in the field, finds out.
