Having a driving licence used to be proof you'd grown up and could move about on your own; now it is almost a guilty pleasure. Dominic Arkwright borrowed a car to get to the studio to meet entrepreneur Alison Larkman (who walked), broadcaster Chris Serle (on his motor scooter) and actor Patrick Field (bike, train and bike) to consider the point of driving in the 21st century.
