Night Waves

Frederic Raphael's classic television series The Glittering Prizes traced the lives of a group of gifted Cambridge University undergraduates in post-war Britain as they rose through university and made an impact on the wider world. Now, over thirty years later, Raphael has updated the story for a BBC Radio 4 series. Kenan Malik assesses the results.
