Bidisha speaks to Hussein Chalayan, twice named British Designer of the Year. Born in Cyprus, Chalayan has become one of Britain's leading fashion design icons, noted for his innovative use of materials and new technology. His work is the subject of a new exhibition at the Design Museum, and he talks about the inspiration behind his designs, which include furniture which transforms itself into garments and a dress composed of over 200 moving lasers.
