News that the largest class action ever brought before the British courts is about to be settled. The case follows the illegal dumping of hazardous waste in West Africa three years ago, which has been the subject of two Newsnight investigations. More than 30,000 people from Ivory Coast who say they were harmed by the waste were involved in the action against a multi-national mineral trading company with a base in London.
