The creative partnership of Garth Jennings and Nick Goldsmith was recently rewarded for their services to the music video industry with the coveted Icon Award at the 2010 UK Music Video Awards. Receiving the award from Radiohead's Ed O'Brien, both Garth and Nick spoke eloquently about the importance of music videos in their development as filmmakers, from making their videos to making their movies Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy and Son Of Rambow - with Goldsmith saying "there is no difference". Having met at art college, Garth, Nick set up the Hammer & Tongs production company and made their name with iconic videos for the likes of Blur (Coffee & T.V.), R.E.M. (Imitation of Life), Supergrass (Pumping on Your Stereo), Radiohead (Nude) and Vampire Weekend (Cousins / A Punk). Quirky and ingenious, their genius then translated to the big screen in the form of international blockbusters Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Son of Rambow.
