World champion Valentino Rossi will have happy memories of the Twin Ring as it was where he clinched his sixth premier-class world title. It was Rossi's fourth win in Japan and continued Italian riders' domination of the race - seven of the last eight winners have been Italian, with Rossi's compatriot Loris Capirossi winning three consecutive times between 2005 and 2007.
