Should some rape victims accept some responsibility for being attacked? A newly-published survey says the majority of people believe they should. It also reveals that women are even less forgiving of the victim than men. Almost three quarters of the women questioned said if a victim got into bed with the assailant before an attack they should take part of the blame. In a drink-fuelled, highly sexualised society, where do you draw the line between personal freedom and personal responsibility? Witnesses: Angela Levin, author and journalist. Dr Nicole Westmarland, academic at Durham University and former chair of Rape Crisis England and Wales. Ellie Levenson, author of The Noughtie Girl's Guide to Feminism. Professor Lisa Isherwood, professor of feminist liberation theologies.
