San Francisco writer Tom Jenks accompanies young Montana cowboy couple Kail and Renee Mantle on one of the last great horse drives in America. Over three days, he helps to drive 300 horses across thousands of acres of rugged terrain. He finds out how the Mantles and their friends survive in this environment and asks whether the days of the cowboy are really numbered.
