Meetings with Remarkable Trees

The Duke of Wellington introduces the American redwood from his estate at Stratfield Saye in Hampshire. This particular specimen was named after the Duke's great-great-grandfather after it had crossed the Atlantic - but the Americans were not amused, resenting the fact that one of their natural wonders had been kidnapped and renamed by the British.
