Quentin Cooper looks at research using hair to find a person's biological markers. A single fibre of hair can give a valuable chronological record of activities and lifestyle, whether it is used by a biochemist testing for drug abuse or by an archaeologist looking at specimens hundreds of years old. He is joined by Dr Andrew Wilson of the University of Bradford and Dr Richard Paul of the University of Glamorgan.
