In January 2006 NASA's stardust mission to collect samples of dust from a comet 400 million kilometres away returned to Earth. Over the last year scientists from all over the world have been analysing the precious cargo of tiny grains, smaller than the width of a human hair. Quentin Cooper is joined by Monica Grady from the Open University and Phil Bland from Imperial College London to discuss the results and their relevance to our understanding of the formation of the Solar System and the chemicals necessary for the origination of life.
