Fulham's short journey to Arsenal offered little promise for the visitors, who have never won at the home of the Gunners despite more than a century of trying. Elsewhere, Manchester United made a seaside trip to Blackpool, Birmingham hosted Tottenham, Manchester City faced local rivals Bolton, Blackburn played Wolves and Stoke met Wigan.
