Phil Brown's side raced into a 2-0 lead in the last campaign before a double from Steven Gerard rescued a point for Liverpool. In other matches Wigan Athletic entertain Chelsea, while Burnley travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the first meeting between the two clubs since their epic Carling Cup semi-final last season.
