The sides have met just five times but those games have produced 21 goals. The Latics have never beaten Tottenham and lost 4-0 at White Hart Lane earlier in the season. Reading were looking for a first-ever win over Arsenal while Liverpool continued their fight for fourth place at Fulham. Relegation-threatened Bolton travelled to Middlesbrough and West Ham were at home against already-relegated Derby.
