Adrian Chiles presents highlights from the day's games in the Premier League, both of which would have repercussions for the title race. In the lunchtime kick-off, Arsenal hosted Aston Villa. The Midlands side crashed to a 5-0 defeat on their final visit to Highbury but are unbeaten against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium, and enjoyed a 2-0 win on their last visit. Villa also caused Arsene Wenger's side consternation over the 2008 Christmas period, fighting back from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 draw at Villa Park on Boxing Day. Manchester United played Hull at the KC Stadium, which witnessed extraordinary scenes on the Red Devils' most recent visit in May 2009. The struggling Tigers lost 1-0 against United, who had already been crowned Premier League champions, but results elsewhere meant Hull survived in the top flight by the skin of their teeth. That prompted huge celebrations among the home support, with manager Phil Brown serenading the crowd with some impromptu singing.
