Chelsea were looking to do the double over Manchester City and history was certainly on their side - the Blues went into the game having scored 28 goals in their last 13 games against City, while conceding just two. One of those came at the City of Manchester Stadium earlier this season when Brazilian Robinho scored on his City debut. But the London club had the last laugh, winning 3-1 with goals from Ricardo Carvalho, Frank Lampard and Nicolas Anelka. Stoke made their first top flight visit to Goodison Park since 1984, when they were thumped 4-0 by Everton.
