Three hours of handpicked rarities chosen by Mark Lamarr to tantalise your ear drums. Plus in session this week Brighton based band The Mummers. The Mummers are focused around the voice of their lead singer Raissa Khan-Panni. A classical music prodigy, Raissa learned oboe as a child, taught herself to sing, and bunked off school to head up to Leicester Square and busk reportedly earning £50 an hour. In her late teens she busked all over Europe, performing Mozart in Vienna's Mozart Square, playing guitar, oboe, violin, and singing along to a ghetto blaster, before heading back to the these shores to study music at Bristol. After graduating from college Raissa had a successful solo career recording several albums as 'Raissa', supported Suede's Brett Anderson on tour and had her music remixed by Cypress Hill. When her solo career started to fade, Raissa spent a few unhappy years as a waitress. It was during this time that she was inspired to write more songs which eventually let to the formation of her current band The Mummers.
