Wreckless Eric and Amy Rigby join us in Manchester for a live session this evening. There are John Peel Sessions from the Psychedelic Furs, The Frank Chickens and The Liggers in Peel By Request, the feature which gives YOU - our lovely listeners - the chance to choose your favourite Peel Session from the BBC Archives. Plus there's a Peel By Behest session from Ash, as chosen by Rick from the band. Wreckless Eric AKA Eric Goulden was signed to Stiff Records in 1977. His first single was produced by Nick Lowe and was the famous Whole Wide World. Over the years Eric has been in a number of different bands. In 1985 he formed The Captains of Industry with some of Ian Dury's Blockheads. In '86 came The Len Bright Combo. He then moved to France where he continued to write and tour. In 2008 he teamed up with Amy Rigby, a singer songwriter who started in the music business in the early 80s as a member of New York City's Last Round Up. She was later to be found in postmodern girl group Shams. She made her first solo album Diary of A Mod Housewife in 1996. Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby's new album is called Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby and is released on the Stiff Label.
