Childhood sweethearts Rachel and Will have been inseparable since they were thirteen. Now they are 23 and have three young children. Two years spent in a cramped and cluttered two bedroom house in Ashford, Kent has left them desperate to improve their home, but that has been impossible on Will's trainee teacher's salary. Stylish Rachel dreams of a glamorous, sexy bedroom - a place to escape to from the demands of family life. She loves velvets and rich textiles, has a passion for burlesque and wants a sexy boudoir of satin and lace. But Will calls her opulent taste impractical - he is a fitness freak and houses his gym equipment in the room at the end of their kitchen. The couple are given 10,000 pounds to transform their house, but there is a catch - novice DIYer Will has to do all the work himself and Rachel and the three kids must move out. They will have absolutely no contact for three weeks. While Will decides he is going to renovate the entire house and gets to work putting up the world's biggest shed, Rachel gets busy with her own secret project. She has a replica of her bedroom to decorate however she wants - a life-size doll's house. Will knows nothing about it, but just two days before Rachel moves back home Will is going to get to see what she really wants.
