Get-up-and-go Kathryn met laidback Jit on her first visit to Birmingham and moved into his terraced house just three months later. Jit is a DIY disaster and their busy lives mean they have been living with peeling wallpaper, books propping up the sofa and holes in the walls. Kathryn is so embarrassed about their home that she won't even invite many of their friends around for dinner. They haven't had the cash to do up the house as they sank all their savings into starting up a graphic design business from home almost two years ago. With a house that's not just a home but a workplace too, it is even more important that they sort it out. So they are given 10,000 pounds to create their dream home, but with one enormous catch - Kathryn must move out for three weeks, leaving Jit to make every design, decorating and DIY decision all by himself. Whilst away, Kathryn has her own secret project - a lifesize replica of her living room for her to decorate however she wants. She can let her imagination run wild. With Kathryn loving designer boutiques and Jit loving a bargain, will he manage to create her dream home or her worst nightmare? 48 hours before she is due to return home Jit gets to see what his girlfriend really wants. With the pressure on, will Jit stick to his decorating guns when he sees what she has picked? Will he pull it off and get the project finished or will this man without a plan bite off more than he can chew? The stakes are high - 'if Jit mucks this up he's dumped', says Kathryn.
