Jonathan Edwards reflects on the stories which made the headlines at the 28th Flora London Marathon on a day in which 35,000 runners set out to tackle the world famous course from Greenwich Park to the Mall via some of the great sights of London. World class elite fields were assembled and there are highlights of the battle for honours in both the Men's and Women's races as well as the wheelchair events. Plus, some of the stories from lower down the field as tens of thousands of amateur runners raised millions of pounds for charity. All have a goal to reach, a story to tell and all play their part in making the London marathon such a great event.
