Frank Renton launches the Radio 2 Young Brass Soloist Competition 2010 and then visits the National Brass Band Championships held annually at The Royal Albert Hall where top bands from all over the UK compete for the most prestigious title in the banding calendar. The Young Brass Soloist competition reaches a climax with the final in February 2010 as four of the country's best players under 21 play alongside The Black Dyke Band for the coveted title and broadcast prizes. Whilst in the Albert Hall earlier this week, The Cory Band have been trying to add the National Championships to all the other titles they've won so far this year. They're currently Welsh, World and Open Champions as well as holders of the Brass In Concert crown from 2008. We'll be hearing from them and some of the other top bands in this special programme.
