A story highlighting the experiences of clearing up and reconstruction in the wake of war. Two years after the end of World War I, Major Dellaplane is heading the operation to find and identify the 350,000 French soldiers listed as missing in action. His work brings him into contact with two young women from very different social backgrounds, each of whom is searching for the man she loves.
