Jungle Book - The Wishing Tree

Animated series based on Rudyard Kipling's classic about the adventures of Mowgli, the boy raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. We follow him as he leaves the pack and learns to survive in the dangerous jungle, constantly at risk of becoming a tasty snack for the evil tiger, Shere Khan. Guided by his trusted friends, Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther, the mancub doesn't always listen to their good advice and ends up in all sorts of risky situations. The evil wolf Phaona does whatever he can to spoil Mowgli's chances of passing his hunting training, so that he'll never be good enough to hunt with the pack. Noticing Mowgli's disappointment, the sly jackal Tabaqui tricks him into thinking that a special wishing tree with solve all his problems. Mowgli is doubtful at first, but then decides it can't do any harm to make a wish. What he doesn't know is that Tabaqui is setting him up to be Shere Khan's next dinner.
