Joe Pignatiello at Breakfast - Northants County Council announces draft budget
Six hundred people could lose their jobs as a result of budget cuts announced by Northamptonshire County Council. The authority has to save £68m next year and £130m over the next four years. It's planning to make reductions in 95 separate areas. As part of the proposals, lollypop patrols could be axed, streetlighting in some areas switched off and eight libraries could close. The budget has been criticised by both Labour and Liberal Democrat opposition groups on the county council and will now go before the scrutiny panel.
