Jazz on 3 - Joe Zawinul Tribute

Joe Zawinul Tribute Jez Nelson presents a tribute to the late great keyboardist, best known for his founding role in the jazz-rock fusion group Weather Report. As well as unreleased archival recordings of Zawinul at the BBC, the programme features interviews and tributes from musicians who worked with him. Austrian-born and classically trained, Zawinul's work in the early 1960s with Miles Davis yielded the now-classic albums, In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew, which paved the way for Weather Report, which Zawinul co-founded with Miroslav Vitous and Wayne Shorter.
