Innocent Shoppers Bullied by 'Civil Recovery' Demands Shoplifting is a big problem for retailers - especially in a recession - and big chain stores are increasingly choosing to use 'civil recovery' methods to deal with shoplifters rather than involving the (over-stretched) police. But Inside Out has discovered that some entirely innocent shoppers have been accused of crimes that they haven't committed, and have received demands for repayment without any evidence being produced against them. David Whiteley investigates. Farm Therapy for Thamesmead Teens Inside Out followed a group of teenagers from a tough Thamesmead estate as they spent a week on a West Country farm run as a charity project. Many of these kids had been exhibiting challenging behaviour at school, but their teachers were convinced that the benefits of a therapeutic country experience would be worth the 600 pound-per-pupil investment. Save the 100 Club! The 100 Club on Oxford Street is one of the capital's most celebrated rock and blues venues, having hosted everyone from the Stones and the Pistols to Suede and the White Stripes since it opened back in 1942. But by this Christmas it could have shut its doors forever, because like many of London's smaller clubs it has found it hard to survive in today's tough economic climate. As the Club searches for funds, Inside Out pays tribute to one of the legendary bastions of live music in central London.
