Amateur film footage of Britain gives a moving and intimate view of our social history. This programme features new material and extended versions of the footage shown in the Home Movie Roadshow. The films are set to music with captions to provide a historical context to the home movies. This programme features a record of Charles and Diana early in their marriage, a portrait of shopping with service in the 1950s and the beautiful cine films of Spike Milligan and his family.
