Robert Kagan, McCain adviser

The Bush presidency has seven months to run but already the rest of the world is preoccupied with what comes next. Five years ago Robert Kagan was an influential advocate of war on Iraq. Now he is advising Republican presidential candidate John McCain on foreign policy, and says he should forge a global 'alliance of democracies'. Stephen Sackur asks if American foreign policy is going to change in the post Bush era.
