Mayor of Cape Town and leader of South Africa's small political opposition, the Democratic Alliance, Helen Zille knows she will never be president of South Africa not least, she says, because she is white. Zille feels her job is to create a political choice for the people of South Africa who are disaffected by what she terms the arrogance and mismanagement of the ANC. Back in May Stephen Sackur travelled to Cape Town to ask her about her views on the ANC, crime and the situation in Zimbabwe.
