In six weeks, President Barack Obama has laid the foundations for a transformational presidency. In the midst of an economic crisis, big government, with big ambitions, is back. Up until January this year, Howard Dean was the Chairman of the Democratic Party's National Committee and did much to help Obama get to the White House. The president's appeal currently goes far beyond the party's activists. But just how radical a president does he intend to be? Howard Dean talks to Stephen Sackur.
