The global meltdown has reduced the growl of the South East Asian tigers to a whimper; their economies are crashing, brought down by the huge drop in their exports. In Thailand the economic gloom is made worse by the political turmoil that has left the country deeply divided. Abhisit Vejjajiva is Thailand's new prime minister and is also the chair of the Asian regional bloc ASEAN. How can he meet the challenges abroad and at home when he is being confronted by regular protests calling for his resignation? Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva talks to Zeinab Badawi.
