A long awaited meeting between Israeli and Palestinian leaders is taking place in the United States next week. The Islamic movement Hamas has been frozen out of the talks, despite winning the last Palestinian elections in 2006. In an exclusive interview for HARDtalk, Stephen Sackur travels to Damascus to ask exiled Hamas leader Khaled Mashal who really speaks for the Palestinians. Mashal explains why he thinks the conference will lead to an explosion in the region, provoking popular anger.
