Fourteen chefs compete for the chance to convince the French that we can match them when it comes to gastronomic prowess. The prize is to cook a fantastic four course banquet hosted by the British Ambassador to France. The banquet will be held at the magnificent Embassy in Paris, which has a proud reputation for championing the best of British. Galton Blackiston and Sat Bains have been battling it out to take the crown for the Central region of England and a place in the Great British Menu national final. In this edition they will cook their entire menus and present them to our exacting panel of food experts - Prue Leith, Matthew Fort and Oliver Peryton - whose task it is to decide which chef will be triumphant and go on to represent their region in the national final. The pressure is well and truly on as there can be only one winner. Will it be Galton with his traditional, classic philosophy on food or Sat with his modernist approach? Presented by Jennie Bond.
