Toby has tips galore on tough and hardy plants that can be used to give you that lush tropical island feel. He also plants tried and tested award-winning herbaceous perennials next to the newest varieties on the block to compare their garden worthiness, and gives a sneak preview of the herbaceous perennials of the future. Carol Klein continues with the third part of her gardening school at home in Devon, as her three lucky apprentices carry on with their horticultural journey of discovery. This time they tackle root cuttings of garden favourites. Joe Swift is busy reshaping lawns and pruning overgrown shrubs in his Design Made Easy series. Joe also sows gourmet veg varieties in the Dig-In Gourmet Garden. Alys Fowler uses her thrifty expertise to fashion a coldframe from scrap materials to make the perfect home for 'hardening off' tender seedlings.
