Manchester City Council have announced that they are going to take down Thomas Heatherwick's spikey 56-metre-high sculpture B of the Bang and put it into storage following safety concerns and a legal row. Christopher Wallace, AKA New York rapper The Notorious B.I.G, was shot dead in 1997 in Los Angeles, aged 24. It was rumoured to have been a revenge killing in response to his West Coast rival Tupac Shakur's fatal shooting the year before. A film about the unsolved case, Notorious, is about to be released.
