Front Line to Picket Line... - Episode 2

Documentary series following the fortunes of Merseyside fire service. After a showdown with the government in 2003, the fire service is being modernised and Merseyside is at the forefront of change. But the fire brigade's union fears that front line services will eventually be cut. At the height of summer, with grass fires raging, the fire brigades union calls an eight-day strike over job cuts. For the first time in history the army can't be called in, so will FBU members break the strike? Allan Urry reports.
