Sue Barker introduces coverage of the World Figure Skating Championships from Turin. Coming hot on the heels of a thrilling Winter Olympics, one of the stars of the Vancouver Games will be gracing the World Championships with her presence. South Korea's Kim Yu-Na scored a remarkable total of 228.56 points as she wowed the judges with a stunning display to claim gold in the ladies' singles. The 19 year old's main competition will come from Japan's Mao Asada. In the men's singles, newly-crowned Olympic champion Evan Lysacek has opted not to defend his world title and will be competing in the America reality TV show, Dancing with the Stars. Russia's Evgeni Plushenko, who was pipped for gold in Vancouver, is now favourite and will be challenged by Japan's Daisuke Takahashi. The British ice dancing pair of John and Sinead Kerr have happy memories of Turin, having made their Olympic debut there in 2006. The siblings finished eighth in the Olympics behind home favourites Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. In the Pairs, Olympic champions Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo of China are unlikely to compete, leaving the field wide open. Robin Cousins joins Sue Barker in the commentary box.
