Charlotte Smith examines the arguments for and against organic farming. According to new research by Reading University, if all farmers in England and Wales went completely organic there would be more beef and lamb but far fewer cereals, eggs and milk. Also, sunshine and showers may be welcomed by many farmers, but for those bailing hay the changeable weather has been a real problem.
