The UK's first solar farm has been given approval. Hundreds of other potential sites have been identified by developers - many of them on existing farms. Charlotte Smith hears how the creation of green energy could leave fields covered in blue solar panels. The ban on basic battery cages for laying hens in 2012 has led many farmers to convert to free-range rather than choose the 'enriched cages'. Now existing free-range egg producers say their price has tumbled due to an over supply. Food prices are now rising at their fastest rate for 15 months.
