Ben Fogle embarks on an epic South American adventure from the Equator to the Tropic of Capricorn, supported by a team of deserving heroes who help him take on the world's toughest environments. His journey begins in Ecuador, where he leads his team through the Avenue of Volcanoes to the summit of Mount Chimborazo, the closest point to the sun on Earth. To scale the mountain, the deserving adventurers must first learn vital ice training techniques on her sister mountain. The team set off behind schedule, but without scaling the 5,000 metre practice climb, the Andean expedition can go no further. Engulfed by ice, disaster strikes when firefighter Craig loses a crampon and coastguard Phil is frozen in his tracks as the team enter the perilous avalanche zone.
