The Morecambe & Wise Show Christmas specials became such an institution that few families would dream of missing them - the 1977 special alone attracted nearly half the UK population. Running from 1969 until 1977, the BBC Christmas shows featured famous guests such as Angela Rippon, Glenda Jackson, and Andre Previn, being made fun of by Eric and Ernie in their inimitable style. Liza Tarbuck takes a look back at these Christmas specials, celebrating with classic clips from the archive and contributions from those who worked with Eric and Ernie. These will include light entertainment producers John Ammonds, Ernest Maxin and James "Jim" Moir, who worked with Mike Yarwood and Bruce Forsyth, before being appointed Controller of Radio 2. We also hear from guest stars Angela Rippon and Michael Aspel; scriptwriters Eddie Braben and Barry Cryer; Rev. Roger Royle, who recalls rushing home to catch the Christmas specials; as well as Joan Morecambe and Doreen Wise.
