As he leaves the Minute Mart, Lucas bumps into Owen. He reminds him that although Libby is making everyone lunch, Owen had better not expect anything else. As Owen walks away, Liz calls him, but he ignores her. He later tells Liz a job has come up in Earls Court and Walford is not working out for him. Anyway, he’s achieved what he wanted – he’s restored his relationship with Libby and is back on reasonable terms with Denise. Liz tells Owen to not be intimidated by Lucas, but she is proud he is dealing with it in a calm manner. While Libby is excitedly preparing the dining table, Denise warns Chelsea to be on her best behaviour – no silly digs at Owen. Lucas assures them Owen will not be a permanent fixture in Walford. Over dinner Owen proposes a toast to Libby saying Libby has inherited her mother’s cooking skills and they laugh as they recall when Denise had a cooking disaster. Lucas detests seeing this warmth between Denise and Owen. Outside, Adam is waiting for Libby by the car to go back to Oxford. Once the family say their goodbyes, Denise congratulates Owen on his new job. Lucas asks Owen if he would like to go for a stroll. Irritated by his presence, Lucas tells Owen he cannot be trusted, punches him in the stomach and tells him he needs to repent his sins. Reminding him that Denise is “his” now, he orders – making biblical quotes and invoking the will of God - Owen to leave Walford for good. Owen wrestles free from Lucas’ clutches and retaliates by pinning him against the wall. Owen declares he is staying put. Meanwhile at the Minute Mart, Shirley is flicking through baby magazines when Pat comes in and asks if she knows who baby George’s father is yet.
