Syed panics, until Amira asks how he could embezzle his family’s money. Relieved that Amira and Tamwar know nothing about his relationship with Christian, Syed talks Amira round. Tamwar’s annoyed that Syed gets away with everything but he doesn’t, he’s nineteen and hasn’t even had a proper girlfriend. Syed receives another text, he calls the blackmailer’s number and is surprised when Ian’s phone rings. Syed later confronts Ian, who drunkenly mumbles something about Christian. Christian’s hurt when Syed accuses him of being the blackmailer. Another text arrives, proving Christian’s innocence. Elsewhere, Lucy looks at her phone - she’s the blackmailer. Denise and Owen meet, Denise is guarded, unconvinced that Owen has changed. Lucas arrives home and Denise introduces the two men. Later, at the park Denise watches from a distance as Owen greets a burly man. Owen introduces the man, Frankie, to Libby. Denise panics when she can’t find Libby, fearing that Owen has reverted to his old self. Libby’s fine, and explains to Denise that Frankie’s Owen’s AA sponsor. Libby tells Denise she’s an adult, if she wants to see her dad she will. Denise meets Owen again, then tells Lucas she’s tired of hating Owen, maybe it’s time she moved on. At the Argee Bhajee, Ian tells Jane they need to plan for the future and hands her an envelope. Jane opens it and is disappointed to finds a static caravan magazine. Jane tells Ian she wants to adopt a baby, but it’s clear he doesn’t. Jane walks out. A text on Jane’s phone leads Ian to drunkenly stumble into an alcoholic support group meeting. Jane later admits she’s been attending a pre-adoption course. Jack invites Sam to a business function. She turns him down, then wonders if she made the wrong decision.
