EastEnders - 26/02/2009

Zainab persists with her accusation that Masood took the money from the account and tells him to replace it by the end of the day. When the money is later returned, Masood continues to protest his innocence. Tamwar intervenes and confesses to stealing the money for his brother, Syed. Masood is adamant they’re not to make contact as Syed will just use them for money. Zainab blames Masood for Syed’s absence from the family but he reveals that Syed was stealing from their old business. Feeling guilty, Zainab throws Syed’s emails away and promises Masood that she won’t contact Syed again. Retrieving the paper from the bin later, Zainab makes a call: “Syed, it’s Mum…if you need money…call.” Pat returns home and is furious to find that Janine has taken over the car lot as part of her vendetta. She says Frank would be ashamed of his daughter, before taking his picture from the wall. She and Janine tussle and the picture of Frank is ripped over Janine’s head. Pat decides to give up on the cab company. Stacey is preparing for Jean’s return but is later dejected to get a call to say that Jean’s decided to stay with the Wendy’s instead. Mo orders some pork from one of her contacts, but a pig is delivered to the house instead. In the lead up to his 40th birthday, Ian decides to make some changes. He later emerges from a building looking shaken and limping. A horrified Billy walks in on Christian and Ian in his pants. Ian frantically tries to explain that he was showing Christian his new tattoo. Fearing Chelsea could ruin his secrecy pact with Patrick, Lucas tells her to keep quiet about the news article, but ensures that he’s made photocopies in order to blackmail Patrick.
