Syed goes to the Vic to look for Amira and sees Christian there. He lies and tells Christian that things are better than ever between him and Amira but Christian doesn’t believe him. David finds a parcel for Max which Masood assures him he was going to deliver later. He tells Masood to pop in later for a proper chat about the situation. Amira watches Zainab breast-feeding Kamil in fascinated horror. Masood goes off to meet with his line manager to sort out the stealing allegations. Amira takes Kamil to wind in the kitchen, completely unsure of what she is doing. Zainab tells Masood the gossips will have started and that there is no smoke without fire. Masood is angry that Zainab is insinuating he is guilty. Tired, she apologises. Amira grimaces in the kitchen as the baby has been sick on her shoulder. The arrival of an expensive pushchair invoiced to Masood, raises Zainab’s suspicions. When Masood gets back from his meeting, he is incensed to have received a caution for not delivering Max’s parcel. Zainab questions him about where he got the money from for the pushchair. Not believing his explanations, Masood is forced to tell Zainab that he won the money gambling at Ricky’s stag do. Zainab looks horrified as gambling is forbidden by the Islamic faith. Syed and Tamwar overhear Zainab and Masood arguing, they are also shocked to discover Masood had been gambling. Amira tries to comfort Zainab and reminds her how much Masood and Zainab love each other. Zainab tells her that the bond between mother and child is love and the rest is make-believe. That evening when Syed comes back in, Amira makes him promise they will always be honest with each other so they do not end up like Masood and Zainab. Amira throws her pills away and says that seeing Kamil has made her broody and she is ready to have a baby. Syed is delighted and hugs Amira, however a look of uncertainty crosses Amira’s face. Masood tries to sort things out with Zainab and Syed tells her he thinks she is being unfair. Zainab snaps and reveals Masood’s past gambling problem, which resulted in them losing their savings and nearly their flat. Syed is shocked, Zainab is heartbroken and Masood, ashamed, tries to hug Zainab, she rejects him, hurt, he leaves. Later Zainab is putting bedding on the sofa for Masood to sleep on. Tamwar thinks she is going a bit far and says that Masood is a good guy, not a thief. As Zainab begins to soften, Tamwar is searching under the sofa for the TV remote, he pulls out a letter addressed to Dot Branning. He then discovers a whole pile of post under the sofa. Zainab and Tamwar exchange horrified looks. On their arrival back at Albert Square, Whitney pretends she feels ill, makes her excuses and leaves Billie, telling him she will give him a call when she is better. Over in the café, Zsa Zsa sneakily steals money from Ian’s till. A sniffling Whitney sees her but keeps quiet. Out of pity and thanks, Zsa Zsa gives her half her danish. Whitney rejects a call from Billie. Whitney tells Zsa Zsa she thinks she is being two-timed. Zsa Zsa tells her to get rid of whoever it is and stop acting like a victim. Whitney is angry and rejects the idea of being a victim but hides when she sees Billie walk into the café. Zsa Zsa notices Whitney’s reaction and mocks her resulting in Whitney leaving. Whitney follows Billie into the pub and sees he has been talking to Kylie on his mobile. She is furious and runs off crying. Billie goes after her, trying to explain she has made a mistake. As he tries to explain, Whitney is reminded of Tony’s deception and is upset. Later, sitting on the sofa at Pat’s, Whitney gets a text from Billie asking her to meet him at Turpin road as he has something for her. Whitney turns up and Billie has made a magnificent mural of her name in a heart. Despite spelling her name wrong (it’s not ‘Witney’), Whitney is smitten and kisses Billie. Lucas takes Sugar for a walk and takes her down to the lake. When he returns he tells Denise and Jordan that Sugar ran away. Jordan is devastated and they say a prayer, hoping that she will return to them. At that moment there is a knock at the door, they open it to see Liz standing there with a suitcase beside her. Later on, out on the stall, Becca hurriedly demands £100 from Jean saying she knows how she can get Stacey to come home. When she finally returns to the stall, she has a professionally made advert for Bradley’s funeral to go in the Walford Gazette. She hopes that Stacey will see it and turn up at the funeral. Jane books Lucy an appointment with the doctor, much to Ian’s disapproval. That evening Ian is getting agitated waiting for Lucy to get back from the doctors. When she finally arrives home, he awkwardly asks how it went. Lucy is very blasé but then bursts into tears and runs upstairs shouting “Leave me alone”.
